Dog walking prices by walk length, week, and month
Dog walking prices by length, from a short potty break to a full hour, with weekday-week and month totals and a public source on every figure.

A standard 30-minute dog walk is the price most owners are asking about. Petful's 2026 page puts that visit at $15 to $30. Yelp puts a 30-minute solo walk at $19 to $29, with a nationwide average of about $23. Time To Pet puts a typical 30-minute charge at $24 to $34, and dates a US average of $29.50 to 2024.
City pages and one-company rate cards sit on either side of those bands. The table below is the length-by-length view, for one dog, before a second-dog fee or a holiday add-on.
Prices by walk length
Week means five weekday walks at that row's per-walk price. Month means four of those weeks. Those two columns are our multiplication of the linked per-walk price, so you can budget a workweek. A page that already prints its own week or month is quoted after the table, because a package price is often lower than five times the single-walk price.
A separate price for a ten-minute visit is absent from the opened US pages. The shortest length those pages price on its own is 15 minutes. Some walkers also fold a short visit into a flat minimum: Petful says some set that minimum near $12 to $15, so a 15-minute walk and a slightly longer 20-minute walk can land on the same fee.
| Length | Per walk | Week at five walks | Month at four weeks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ten-minute visit | A separate price for this length is absent from the opened pages. | ||
| 15 minutes | $10 to $20 on Petful | $50 to $100 | $200 to $400 |
| 20 minutes | $23 at Peak City Puppy in Wake Forest; $24.00 for one pet at Doggywalker in Arlington | $115 and $120.00 | $460 and $480.00 |
| 30 minutes | $15 to $30 on Petful | $75 to $150 | $300 to $600 |
| 45 minutes | $25 to $45 on Airtasker | $125 to $225 | $500 to $900 |
| 60 minutes | $25 to $45 on Petful | $125 to $225 | $500 to $900 |
The 15-minute, 30-minute, and 60-minute rows use Petful's 2026 ranges. The 45-minute row uses Airtasker's duration table, updated 19 May 2026. Petful's page prices 15, 30, and 60 minutes. The 20-minute row uses two company prices. A national page that states 20 minutes on its own was not among the pages we could open.
Bands other pages already print
These figures are the page's own words. They are not the multiplication in the table.
Airtasker lists a 15-minute potty break at $10 to $25, a 30-minute walk at $15 to $30, a 45-minute walk at $25 to $45, and a 60-minute walk at $30 to $60. For five 30-minute walks a week, that page states $75 to $175. For two 30-minute walks a week it states $30 to $70.
Yelp puts outdoor potty breaks at $15 to $18, a 30-minute solo walk at $19 to $29 with an average of about $23, and an hour-long walk at about $40.
HomeGuide lists $20 to $30 per 30-minute walk, $30 to $60 per hour, $10 to $35 per walk as a flat rate for a quick visit, and $280 to $360 per month for consistent service. That monthly band is not tied to one walk length.
Care.com lists a starting dog-walker rate of $16.43 an hour from rates posted on Care.com, and quotes an estimate of $18 to $25 an hour for a 20- to 30-minute visit.
Denver Dog prints a national range table: a 15-to-20-minute potty break at $12 to $20, a 30-minute walk at $15 to $35, and a 60-minute walk at $25 to $45.
Petful calls roughly $425 to $500 a month a common setup for a daily 30-minute walk on normal workdays. That is Petful's sketch of a workweek, not five times $15.
City cards and company menus
A Chicago guide puts short potty breaks of 15 to 20 minutes at $18 to $22, a private 30-minute walk at $22 to $30, a wider 30-minute band at $20 to $30, and longer walks of 45 to 60 minutes at $30 to $40. Chicago Dog Walkers is one city's page.
Big City Woof Walker posts a weekly recurring menu in Chicago: $16 for a 15-minute walk, $27 for a 30-minute walk, and $35 for a one-hour walk. Those are that company's semi-private prices, not a city average.
Hands N Paws in Columbus, on a page updated July 2026, shows about $216 a month for two 30-minute walks a week, about $324 for three, and about $540 for five. The page says those monthly totals use an average month of four weeks and the company's current pricing.
Doggywalker in Arlington lists one-pet visits at $24.00 for 20 minutes, $27.00 for 30 minutes, $37.00 for 45 minutes, and $47.00 for 60 minutes. Its monthly package for 20 minutes, five times a week, is $384.00 for one pet. Its monthly package for 30 minutes, five times a week, is $440.00 for one pet. The package is the number to compare with a stack of single walks, because the package is the price the company actually bills for the month.
Peak City Puppy in Wake Forest lists a 15-minute potty stop at $20 per visit, a 20-minute walk at $23 per visit, and a 30-minute walk at $28 per visit.
What moves the price off the band
Length is the first lever. A second dog from the same home is the next one people forget to ask about. Petful says a second dog typically adds $5 to $10 per walk. Yelp says many walkers add $2 to $5 for each extra pet. Ask which rule the walker uses before you book two dogs at the one-dog price.
A group or pack walk is usually cheaper per dog than a private walk. Petful puts group or pack walks at $12 to $25 per dog. That only fits a dog who is calm with other dogs.
Holiday and last-minute visits often carry an add-on. Petful says major holidays often add $5 to $15, or a flat holiday rate. Confirm the holiday list in writing before a Thanksgiving walk.
$20 for a 30-minute walk sits inside Petful's $15 to $30 and inside Yelp's $19 to $29. $20 for a 15-minute walk sits at the top of Petful's $10 to $20. Either can be a fair local price. The test is what the visit includes: one dog or two, a private walk or a pack, a report after the walk, and how far the walker drives.
If you walk dogs, turn the band into your menu
Owners use the table to budget. Walkers use it as a benchmark, then price from their own drive, supplies, and the hourly pay they want to keep. The method for that arithmetic is on dog walking rates. What employed walkers and independent walkers actually take home is on how much do dog walkers make. The setup around the price, from the first client conversation to a simple service menu, is on how to start a dog walking business.
Once the numbers are yours, put them on a page a client can hold. The Dog Walking Price List is a one-page menu of your walk and drop-in prices for people thinking about hiring you, and the price is $4.99. It includes area, booking and policies. Print it, hand it out at a meet and greet, or send it as a PDF or a photo. Every price stays blank until you fill it in, so the page shows your prices only.
The PDFs are for printing and filling in by pen. This page's bands are a starting comparison, and your block can sit above or below every figure here.
